Glossy Ibis Plegadis falcinellas
The Glossy Ibis is widespread in the Old World and can now be found in the West Indies and along the Atlantic coast especially Florida, where it was scarce until the 1930’s. Within the last two centuries it may have transversed from West Africa to the Caribbean’s.
It can be found probing the shallows of either salt or fresh water marshes and swamps for mostly insects and crayfish and also many small snakes, especially in Florida.
